Alloy 601 (Inconel 601) is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for applications that require resistance to heat and corrosion. Its most distinguishing feature is its incredible resistance to high-temperature oxidation, even under extreme cyclic conditions.
Unlike Alloy 600, Alloy 601 contains an addition of aluminum, which helps form a high-quality, protective oxide scale that resists spalling (flaking off) during rapid temperature changes.
