Alloy 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with an addition of niobium. Unlike other alloys that require heat treatment to gain strength, Alloy 625 derives its high strength from the stiffening effect of molybdenum and niobium on its nickel-chromium matrix.
